In the past two decades, countries emerging from divided histories have increasingly incorporated transitional justice mechanisms to uncover and address the crimes of the past. Transitional justice has fast become a recognized field of policy expertise, research, and law, and today, it stands as an academic discipline in its own right. Moreover, concerns with transitional justice and its relevance to building durable peace have gained urgency and priority within the world’s most important multilateral agencies. United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan, in addresses to both the Security Council and the General Assembly, has emphasized that it is through “reintroducing the rule of law and confidence in its impartial application that we can hope to resuscitate societies shattered by conflict.” Transitional justice processes, as a key vehicle for achieving this objective, have been recognized as essential in the work of the United Nations, which continues to strengthen these processes in post-conflict states. Despite the growing significance of this field, research has, to date, been sporadic and fragmented. Researchers and practitioners in this area come from various disciplines and regions but often lack institutional platforms for sharing information and comparing experiences. This hampers the ability to build on past research and record best practices, which in turn hinders the evolution of the field. Innovation in rethinking the paradigm of transitional justice is stifled, as there are few spaces for cross-disciplinary dialogue. The Journal of Human Rights and Global Justice (JHRGJ) aims to provide a forum for the development and sharing of knowledge, as well as for building and consolidating research expertise in this vital field. Most importantly, the journal serves as both a vehicle for disseminating this information and as a point of dialogue between activists, practitioners, and academics. This dialogue is facilitated by the journal’s format and structure. In addition to regular-length articles, the journal features a section called ‘Notes from the Field,’ which includes shorter practitioner-focused articles, interviews, discussion papers, responses to earlier articles, practitioners’ reflections, creative writing, and the presentation of new data. Transitional justice is defined broadly to encompass a wide range of civil society and government initiatives. This broad scope is particularly important as the field continues to evolve in concept and reach. While truth-seeking remains one of the most widely recognized instruments of transitional justice and an increasingly regularized—though contested—element of democratic transitions, countries are also developing locally inspired forums for justice. Internationally, prosecutorial responses to organized violence have also evolved over the past decade. Significant developments include the establishment of the International Criminal Court, the international tribunals for the Former Yugoslavia and Rwanda, the Special Court for Sierra Leone, and the increasing acceptance of universal jurisdiction for international crimes. In response to these developments, the Journal of Human Rights and Global Justice seeks to be dynamic enough to accommodate the evolving landscape of transitional justice. The journal solicits articles from various fields and disciplines to encourage conversation and debate among diverse perspectives and methodologies.

Journal of Cultural Studies and Critical Theory
Journal of Cultural Studies and Critical Theory publishes peer-reviewed research articles, critical analyses of contemporary media representations, posthuman and new materialist inquiry, critical and performance ethnography, and creative non-fiction, among other areas of critical inquiry. Journal of Cultural Studies and Critical Theory provides an explicit forum for the intersections of cultural studies, critical interpretive research methodologies, and cultural critique. The aim of the journal is to connect critical cultural studies research with a necessary focus on the practices, politics, and philosophies of inquiry that underpin the research act. Published six times per year, Journal of Cultural Studies and Critical Theory is an interdisciplinary journal drawing from those scholarly traditions in the social sciences and the humanities which are premised on a critical, performance-based cultural studies agenda. Preference is given to experimental, risk-taking manuscripts which reside at the intersection of interpretive theory, critical methodology, culture, media, history, biography, and social structure. The mandate for this interdisciplinary, international journal is to move methods talk in cultural studies to the forefront, into the regions of moral discourse. The arrows that connect the two sides of our title designate this dialogical relationship between inquiry, critique, and methodological practice. Works will take up such methodological and moral issues as the local and the global, text and context, voice, writing for the other, and the presence of the author in the text. The commitment to imagine a more democratic society has been a guiding feature of cultural studies from the very beginning. Journal of Cultural Studies and Critical Theory understands that the discourses of a critical cultural studies methodology are basic to any effort to re-engage the promise of the social sciences and the humanities for democracy in the 21st Century.

This is best done by engaging with phenomena in the Indian and emerging markets contexts. The journal especially invites research on topics and contexts salient to India and other emerging markets, and their environment. Theories developed or applied in the papers should be clearly placed within the context being investigated. In academic research, rigour comes from deep engagement with the literature, careful presentation of evidence to support one explanation over competing ones, and cautious interpretation of results. In contrast to journalistic articles and consulting reports, academic research has a cumulative impact because each piece builds on previous work to form a coherent body of knowledge. Therefore, it is necessary for each paper to clearly explain how it adds to the existing literature, indicating what a reader would have believed based on previous work, and how the new evidence should change those beliefs. In addition to papers that use traditional methods, the journal welcomes interesting descriptive studies that clearly explain the academic implications of the phenomena being described. RATP encourages data and code sharing through recognized repositories and will acknowledge publications accompanied by data and source code with appropriate badges of transparency. Types of submissions Most papers published will be original research articles, including field and case studies. The journal will also publish perspective papers that describe institutional details, highlight under-researched or emerging phenomena, or review the literature to identify future research opportunities. Authors intending to submit perspective articles are encouraged to check with the editors about the suitability of the topic. All perspective papers will be peer reviewed. Peer Review Process At least two leading scientists specialized in the relevant field are selected from the reviewer database to serve as peer reviewers for the Journal of Sustainable Farming and Technology. Reviewers are randomly chosen based on the study’s area of interest. Following their review, revisions are assessed by specialized editors, then the manuscript undergoes formatting and grammatical checks by the managing editor and journal software. Finally, the Chairman and Editor-in-Chief approve the reviewers’ and editors’ recommendations before publication. Editors are responsible for ensuring that the peer review process is fair, timely, thorough, and respectful. Their prompt and appropriate recommendations on relevant and important topics are critical to the journal’s success. Authors must ensure that their work is original and that any borrowed text or ideas are properly cited or quoted. The goal of peer review is to ensure that the journal publishes high-quality research that benefits the scientific community. Peer review can be challenging for authors as it may lead to rejection; however, revisions and improvements are a normal and valuable part of the publication process. Peer review ensures that the scientific content is accurate and reliable. Reviewers, as experts, voluntarily provide constructive feedback to help improve manuscripts. In scholarly publishing, reviewers have a crucial role because peer review: Validates academic work, Enhances the quality of published research, and Expands networking opportunities within research communities. Several peer review models exist, each with pros and cons. The Journal of Sustainable Farming and Technology employs a double-blind peer review process, in which both authors and reviewers remain anonymous. This system: Reduces reviewer bias based on factors such as author gender, nationality, academic rank, or prior publication record. Ensures manuscripts are judged solely on content, regardless of the author’s reputation. Reviewers’ Responsibilities Confidentiality: Reviewers must not share information about manuscripts without prior permission from the editor, nor keep copies of the material. Competence: Reviewers should only accept assignments within their expertise. If unqualified, they should decline. Constructive assessment: Reviews should highlight strengths, offer constructive criticism, and suggest improvements. Reviewers must justify their recommendations clearly for editors and authors to understand. They should check for appropriate citations and notify editors of potential duplicate publications. Language must remain professional and respectful. Impartiality and integrity: Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts solely on scientific merit, relevance, and scope without bias or personal interests. Disclosure of conflicts of interest: Reviewers should avoid conflicts and inform the editor if any arise. Timeliness and responsiveness: Reviewers should submit their evaluations within the agreed timeframe and respond promptly to editor queries. Editor and Editorial Board Responsibilities Editors must uphold the integrity of published content by issuing corrections, retractions, or statements of concern as needed, following publisher policies and ethical standards. The editorial office conducts an initial screening of all manuscripts. Submissions that do not align with the journal’s scope or fail formatting criteria may be rejected outright, providing quick decisions for authors. Manuscripts passing the initial screening go to the relevant section editor, who may recommend rejection due to serious flaws such as poor design, lack of originality, or redundancy. If appropriate, manuscripts proceed to peer review by typically two reviewers who provide feedback. The section editor may then recommend acceptance or rejection. The manuscript, along with reviewer comments, is forwarded to the Editor-in-Chief for a final decision. Authors receive reviewer feedback and have four weeks to submit revisions to the section editor. Failure to resubmit within this timeframe will bar resubmission of the revision. Rejected manuscripts may only be resubmitted with permission from the section editor or Editor-in-Chief. Revised rejected manuscripts are treated as new submissions.
